The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is investigating the tragic discovery of a corpse inside a vehicle reportedly registered to singer D4vd.

Officers arrived at the 1000 block of N. Mansfield Avenue on Monday just prior to 12:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a foul odor detected from an impounded vehicle, ABC 7 News reported, citing the LAPD. The investigation allegedly led them to a Tesla at the Hollywood tow yard.

Authorities alleged they discovered human remains inside the front trunk of the Tesla reportedly registered in Hempstead, Texas, to David Anthony Burke, known by his moniker D4vd, according to ABC 7.

An LAPD spokesperson confirmed to The Independent that they had launched an investigation into the incident but did not comment on the identity of the vehicle’s owner. “We do not have information on the owner of the vehicle,” the spokesperson said.

Police said the corpse was put inside a bag and the vehicle had been impounded at the location for couple of days, according to ABC 7. They did not release any further information pertaining to the identity of the deceased.

D4vd has more than 33 million listeners each month on Spotify and boasts more than 3.6 million TikTok followers and performed at Coachella in April.

The 20-year-old released his debut album earlier in 2025. His hit songs “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide” have both gone viral.

D4vd has not issued a public comment about the harrowing allegations.
