Rashee Rice, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, has received a six-game suspension to begin the 2025 campaign, according to an announcement Wednesday from the NFL. Rice violated the league’s personal conduct policy.

The initial report came from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, also adding that Rice will be serving his suspension with no appeal. The National Football League went on to confirm the news. (RELATED: Le’Veon Bell Throws Hilarious Shade At Adam Gase After Remembrance Of Crazy Story Involving Bowling)

Now banned from being able to practice with Kansas City as a part of his punishment, Rice’s suspension comes without pay and is effective immediately. He’ll be eligible Oct. 13 to get reinstated after the Chiefs‘ Week 6 contest taking on the Detroit Lions.

The suspension on Rice stems from his conviction for helping spark up a chain-reaction collision that involved several vehicles, an incident that took place Mar. 2024 in Dallas. In July, he was given a 30-day jail sentence. Facing two third-degree felony charges of collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury, Rice issued a guilty plea.

Paying around $115,000 to victims of the collision to cover medical expenses, Rice is allowed by the judge to pick the time(s) he wants to serve his sentence.

Rice will not be available to the Chiefs for the following contests: Week 1 taking on the Los Angeles Chargers (Brazil), Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles (home), Week 3 at the New York Giants (away), Week 4 facing off against the Baltimore Ravens (home), Week 5 at the Jacksonville Jaguars (away) and then the Week 6 contest playing the Detroit Lions (home).

Rice will be eligible to return when the Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders in a Week 7 contest at home.
