NFL Coach Carted Off Field After Health Scare

Terrell Williams, the defensive coordinator of the New England Patriots, was carted off the practice field Monday after he suffered dehydration.
A stretcher was rushed over to Williams by New England‘s medical staff to help with the dehydrated coach. After he received treatment, he then got on the cart by himself, per the New York Post. The Patriots said the coordinator was “fine,” according to The Boston Herald. (RELATED: Ex-NFL Star Leshone Johnson Convicted On Six Felony Counts In Record-Setting Dog Fighting Operation)
Currently 51 years old, Williams is approaching his first season with the Patriots, joining head coach Mike Vrabel in his new regime. Williams’ tenure with the franchise has been depleted by medical issues, missing both minicamp and OTAs back in May to take care of a health problem that was never disclosed.
“Big T is here and ready to go,” said Vrabel about Williams prior to training camp getting started. “He’s been on the field with us the last couple of days, and players were excited to see him.”

Williams has over 10 years of coaching experience in the National Football League, having runs with the Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans and now the Patriots.
“Football is a job that obviously there is some stress involved,” said Williams to ESPN’s Mike Reiss in May regarding taking responsibility for missing time. “Just eating right. Working out. If you’re supposed to take any medication, take it. Like I told the players, we all think we’re invincible.”
