Famous Athletes Can Be Ungrateful Jerks, But One NFL QB Is Standing Out For His Model Behavior

dailycaller.com

Famous athletes are sometimes ungrateful jerks, especially toward the fans who make their jobs possible.

Take LeBron James, for example. In 2021, the thin-skinned basketball star had two fans sitting court-side kicked out of the game for no apparent reason, other than the fact that they were rooting for the Pacers and not the Lakers. Admittedly, Americans treat athletes like demigods — not quite human but not quite God, either. In turn, athletes think they’re better than everyone else and have the license to treat fans as lesser people. (Subscribe to MR. RIGHT, a free weekly newsletter about modern masculinity)

But not all of them. Buffalo Bills quarterback has recently displayed. After a training session in late July, Allen showed respect to military service members by removing his hat as he shook their hands in the autograph line.

Later that day, when Allen was leaving, he heard a young girl crying because she missed out on an autograph.

A lot of athletes would pretend they didn’t hear her. A lot of athletes would keep walking away. After all, they’re busy and sign hundreds, if not thousands, of autographs in a year. Not everyone is going to get one.

Not Josh Allen, though. The Bills franchise star turned around, gave the girl a hug, and then kept on signing autographs. If that’s not an upstanding guy, I don’t know who is.
