Astronomer CEO Andy Byron resigned from his position days after he was allegedly caught cuddling up with the head of HR in a viral scene at a Coldplay concert.

“As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the company said in a statement posted on X. “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.”

The New York-based company put Byron on leave Friday and appointed Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy as the interim CEO. Byron is still listed under the Board of Directors on the company’s website. (RELATED: Linda Yaccarino Resigns As CEO Of X)

Byron and Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s Chief People Officer, were supposedly spotted on the kiss cam at Coldplay’s concert in Boston on Wednesday. Fans at the concert captured the interaction which quickly spread across social media. In the video, Byron appears to be holding onto Cabot when Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin says, “Oh, look at these two.”

Cabot quickly covered her face with her hands as Byron ducked down. The pair’s reaction caused Martin to quip, “Oh, what … either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy!”

Social media users were quick to try to identify the concertgoers. Some speculated the woman next to them in the video was Alyssa Stoddard, a fellow Astronomer employee. However, the company confirmed Stoddard was not in attendance.

After the incident spiraled across the internet, Astronomer issued a statement saying the Board of Directors began a formal investigation into the incident.

In Saturday’s statement, Astronomer noted the increase in awareness their company has seen.

“Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI. While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not,” the company said. “We’re continuing to do what we do best: helping our customers with their toughest data and AI problems.”

Byron and Cabot have not issued a statement publicly as of Saturday.
