On Fox Business Friday, Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett outlined how former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey manipulated intelligence to target President Donald Trump.

Comey and Brennan are under criminal investigation for potential misconduct related to the Steele dossier, which fueled the FBI’s probe into alleged Russian collusion during Trump’s 2016 campaign. During an appearance on “Kudlow,” Jarrett explained how Comey used the phony dossier to secure a FISA warrant, misleading judges by calling the document credible while withholding critical details.

“They used the dossier to try to entrap Trump in the infamous Trump Tower meeting just days before he was sworn into office. That didn’t work. So then Comey purloins FBI documents and leaks them to the media for the sole purpose of triggering the special counsel, which is his longtime friend and mentor, Bob Mueller, who’s a thundercloud over Donald Trump for more than two years of his presidency. And it really hobbled his ability to get things done,” Jarrett said.

Jarrett said the investigation into Trump was built on a false foundation, with Brennan, Comey and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper knowingly relying on a fraudulent document.

“They based it all on a phony document called the dossier and Brennan and Comey and Clapper. They all knew that it was garbage. But Comey deftly misappropriated and exploited it as a pretext to launch the investigation of Trump against FBI regulations,” Jarrett said.

Jarrett further outlined how Comey misled the FISA court to secure a spy warrant, presenting the discredited Steele dossier as credible evidence while concealing critical facts.

“And then he goes to the FISA court to get a spy warrant and deceives the judges telling them ‘Oh, no, this dossier is credible,’ not telling them we’ve already debunked it at the FBI,” Jarrett said. “And they said that the author of the dossier, Christopher Steele, is reliable, not telling the judges ‘Oh, by the way, we fired him for lying as a source.'” (RELATED: ‘I Am Clueless’: John Brennan Plays Dumb As Feds Zero In)

Jarrett praised current CIA Director John Ratcliffe for uncovering crucial evidence that Jarrett said could implicate top intelligence officials in wrongdoing.

“Hats off to Ratcliffe. He dug up the information, including handwritten, incriminating notes by Brennan. Ratcliffe is just terrific,” Jarrett said.

Ratcliffe referred evidence of Brennan’s alleged misconduct to FBI Director Kash Patel. This new information comes from Ratcliffe declassifying a “lessons learned” review of the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA).

Ratcliffe’s review said Brennan pushed to include the Steele Dossier in the ICA, a claim now refuted by new evidence in the CIA’s June review. The dossier, compiled by Christopher Steele for Fusion GPS, was indirectly funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign through Perkins Coie, the Associated Press reported.
