Fan Gets Kicked Out Of Brewers-Cubs Game For … Being A Hero?

And this is why we love baseball! The randomness!
A fan was kicked out by security prior to coming back to cheers from his fellow supporters Thursday following a scene that saw him climb the protective netting of Wrigley Field to grab a stuck bat. Things went down around first base after Milwaukee Brewers right fielder Sal Frelick had his bat slip through his fingers where it ultimately got tied up in the netting.
The bat from Frelick got latched on the netting around 10 feet up following a swinging strike in the sixth inning. (RELATED: Pirates’ Dennis Santana Tries To Smack Fire Out Of Fan, And Holy Moly, This Could’ve Been Really Bad)
Playing hero, the fan climbed up the netting and ended up grabbing the bat out of it, which actually saw him get kicked out of the game by security. Fortunately though, they let him come back just minutes later, receiving cheers from the people in attendance. And to make it even cooler, that crowd size was 41,078, which is the largest that the Chicago Cubs have brought in the entire campaign.
Milwaukee won the game, 8-7.

Shoutout to Cubs security for being onto it.
They saw some potential nut climbing up the netting and got him out of there, quickly realized that he was just going for the bat, and then let him go back to his seat without too much of a process. They handled the entire thing smoothly.
Give ’em a raise, Cubbies.
