Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom loves being in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. He seems addicted to the attention no matter the cost. But his recent post makes one wonder whether the reptilian-like head of California is doing okay or if the message is really a cry for help.

In a “Happy Birthday” post to his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, he called her the “First Partner of California.” On the surface, it certainly seems Newsom knew precisely what he was doing with this post. He had to know this would garner laughs and memes from the right because we can’t help but call out the sheer left-wing insanity that is the California leadership class.

Happy Birthday to the First Partner of California, the outstanding mother of our four incredible children, and the love of my life, @JenSiebelNewsom.

I hope your day is just as remarkable as the work that you’ve done for California’s women and kids.

However, after further examination, it appears that Newsom was likely sending out an S.O.S. signal to other men, asking them to help him escape his authoritarian wife. While the knee-jerk reaction is to feel sorry for his wife because instead of calling her his wife or First Lady, he calls her partner — something more appropriate for same-sex couples than for a husband and wife — it might be time to check on the governor. “Jennifer Siebel Newsom chose the title First Partner, as opposed to the traditional title of First Lady, to send a signal of inclusivity, recognizing that one day there will be a woman or LGBTQ+ Governor of California, and to elevate the importance of partnership and the need for, and benefits of, a caring, inclusive government,” the California governor’s official website states.

His wife is refusing to be called first lady, which leads any rational person to assume she is either coming out as a gay man and the two are in a closeted same-sex marriage, or the thought of her being linked to him maritally is so revolting to her that she’d rather people assume the former than succumb to the latter.

All jokes aside, in reality, their refusal to use traditional language in order to conform to left-wing orthodoxy is the perfect example of why the left continues to lose regular American voters. Instead of elevating the bedrock of a healthy society, which is the marriage between husband and wife, they choose to “send a signal of inclusivity” for women and the LGBTQ community.

Americans soundly defeated this at the ballot box in November. Calling his wife “First Partner” exposes more than just his willingness to kneel to left-wing idols; by doing that, he shows he’s not a serious person who should be given the power that comes with the presidency. Voters don’t want to see how many buzzwords you can fit into a birthday post to your wife, Gavin. They want you to end violent riots against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They want you to make their communities safe from open-air drug dens and the sidewalks being used as personal lavatories. They want to be able to go to their grocery store and fill up their gas tanks without feeling like they have to choose one or the other.

Newsom might have been trying to appease the left and aggravate the right with his birthday post for his wife, but at the end of the day, the message was clear: he is completely disqualified from holding higher office.
