Two more senior staffers for Sen. Fetterman call it quits and leave - Conservative Institute

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) ran for office in 2022 as a progressive leftist but has, to the surprise of many across the ideological spectrum, served as more of a moderate Democrat for the past few years.
The apparent political evolution of Fetterman has now led to the resignations of two of his longest-serving senior staffers, according to Fox News.
Those two departures are just the latest in a string of staffer resignations over the past few years that can be linked to the senator's staunch support for Israel in its battle against Hamas terrorists in Gaza as well as his occasional willingness to work cooperatively with Republicans and President Donald Trump.
A year-long exodus of staffersNBC News reported that two of Sen. Fetterman's top staffers, Communications Director Charlie Hills and Legislative Director Tré Easton, revealed that they would soon leave the senator's office despite having worked for him since his 2022 campaign.
"Working for John afforded me the opportunity to build a diligent policy team from scratch," Easton told the outlet in a statement. "Together we created a legislative body of work that I think is a blueprint for how Democrats should be governing when they have power. I’ll forever be grateful."
Those imminent resignations come just about a month after it was confirmed that Fetterman's previous communications director, Carrie Adams, had quit that job roughly five months after she'd publicly disagreed with her boss's openly pro-Israel stance in a media interview.
Adams, who had just been replaced in her particular role by Hills, had in turn been a replacement for three of Fetterman's communications staffers who'd resigned in protest of his support of Israel in March of last year, including former Communications Director Joe Calvello, former Deputy Communication Director Nicholas Gavio, and former Digital Aide Emma Mustion, per Fox News.
Also jumping ship about a month after those resignations, presumably for the same reason, was the senator's former chief of staff, Adam Jentleson, though at the time he purportedly stuck around a little while longer as a "senior advisor" to the senator.
Pro-Israel stance the biggest reason for resignationsSen. Fetterman shocked and angered many of his fellow Democrats over the past couple of months by meeting with President Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort ahead of the Inauguration, voting alongside Republicans to confirm some of Trump's Cabinet nominees, and voting in support of a GOP bill he also co-sponsored to crack down on criminal illegal aliens.
However, according to the left-leaning The Intercept, it is the Democratic senator's unapologetically strong support of Israel and its military operations in Gaza to combat the murderous threat posed by Hamas terrorists that is the real driver behind the exodus of pro-Palestinian progressive leftist staffers.
"I don’t find this as a surprise," an unnamed former Fetterman campaign staffer told the outlet of the "major staff turnover" the senator has experienced over the past year, and continued, "I think the staff is probably frustrated that working in the Fetterman office means you’re just working on Israel all the time."
"This is a guy who came in talking about being a champion for labor and he’s gone pretty quiet on it," the former campaign staffer added. "This is a guy who, since Trump won, is for lack of a better word, basically a useful idiot for Republicans. He’s supporting stuff and it gives them cover to say, 'Look it’s bipartisan, we got Fetterman.'"
Has shifted away from the issues he campaigned onThe Intercept further reported that, per its sources, Sen. Fetterman's staff is upset that many of the issues he ran on in 2022 -- such as advocating on behalf of the working class, immigrants, and the LGBTQ community, and for criminal justice reform -- have largely been set aside and replaced by a more narrow focus on the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza.
Likely making the situation even more uncomfortable for the left-leaning staffers was Fetterman's evolving independent streak, including his renouncement of progressivism, his acceptance of contributions from Republican-aligned donors, his "open mind" toward Trump and warning for other Democrats to stop "freaking out" all the time, and his expressed willingness to work cooperatively with Republicans and Trump on areas of common ground that will benefit Pennsylvanians and all Americans.
