Border czar Tom Homan told Newsmax on Monday that President Donald Trump is taking the fight against drug cartels worldwide and plans to "wipe the cartels off the face of the earth."

"He's going to attack these terrorist organizations. There is a plan," Homan told "Carl Higbie FRONTLINE."

Homan said Americans should not be discouraged by the short-term quiet.

"They're going to hear more. ... There is no safe haven in the world for terrorists who put this country in harm's way," he said.

Homan said the president is fully aware of the dangers posed by drug cartels.

"Thousands of Americans have suffered at the hands of TDA [Tren de Aragua] and MS-13 and the other organizations that Trump has designated terrorist organizations."

Homan said Trump will fight against cartels worldwide, describing the strategy as playing the "away game."

"He's going to take them out where they lie, and it is not over," he said.

"President Trump had made a promise to American people. He's going to keep that promise."
