President Donald Trump on Monday endorsed seven Republicans running for Congress.
Trump posted the endorsements on his Truth Social account.
He endorsed John Cowan, running in Georgia's 11th Congressional District; Anthony DiLorenzo, running in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District; Jeanine Driscoll, running in New York's 4th Congressional District; Jenny Honeycutt, running in South Carolina's 1st Congressional District; Brent Taylor, running in Tennessee's 9th Congressional District; Barb Regnitz, running in Indiana's 1st Congressional District; and Steve Toth, running in Texas' 2nd Congressional District.
In his endorsements, Trump said the candidates would work to expand the economy and cut taxes and regulations. He called them "America First Patriots," noting their support for the military, border security, and the Second Amendment, and saying it was his "great honor" to endorse them.
Toth previously knocked off Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, in a primary in April. Honeycutt is running in the seat currently held by Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C.
Cowan, Taylor, and Toth are running in safe Republican seats, with the Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan election handicapper, rating each seat as "Solid Republican."
Taylor's primary is in August.
DiLorenzo, whose primary is in September, is running in a seat Cook rates as likely Democrat, while Honeycutt's race was recently downgraded from Solid Republican to Likely Republican by Cook.
Driscoll is running against Rep. Laura Gillen, D-N.Y., in a seat Cook rates as lean Democrat. Regnitz's race is rated as likely Democrat by Cook.
