Sick Husband Taken Care Of By Sicker Wife
RICHMOND, KY — Local husband Kevin Manthei fell ill over the weekend, requiring constant care and attention from his wife Bethany, who is currently much more ill.
Mrs. Manthei shrugged off a 103-degree fever, body aches, and chills to help her husband fight through his stuffy nose.
"You poor thing," said Mrs. Manthei, bringing her husband another box of kleenex. "Look, I've made you a cup of tea and brought you the heating pad. Do you need me to run to Walgreens for you to get anything? I haven't thrown up for at least fifteen minutes, so I think I can make it."
Mr. Manthei bravely declined his wife's offer, believing he had the strength to pull through the sensation of one nostril being clogged. "That's okay babe, I know your fever has been so high you've been hallucinating, so I think I can make it," said Manthei. "I do need you to please cook some homemade chicken noodle soup though. I always have to have my soup when I'm down like this, or I just can't recover. Thanks, babe."
At publishing time, Mr. Manthei had decided that, on second thought, maybe his wife better run to the store after all for some fresh tissues.
