U.S. — After making history by becoming the world's first trillionaire, Elon Musk credited his enormous wealth to carefully following the Dave Ramsey envelope system.

The Ramsey envelope system, which involves budgeting by putting only the cash available for each spending category into separate envelopes, was described by Musk as the major key to his becoming a trillionaire.

"I couldn't have achieved this without Dave," said Musk. "The secret to becoming a trillionaire is so simple, anyone can do it. It's controlling your spending by always paying in cash, using the cash you set aside for that category at the beginning of the month. I don't know why more people don't do it. Look where it got me!"

According to sources, despite becoming a trillionaire, Musk still plans to stick strictly to the envelope system. "Nothing will change for Elon. It will still be starting each month by labeling envelopes 'Groceries' and 'Leisure' and dividing up the cash," said Musk confidant Braxton Vickers. "The truth is, anyone could do what Elon did to become wealthy, but no one sticks to it like he does. It takes a lot of discipline to stay with it."

At publishing time, a 7-11 cashier had informed Musk that he did not think he could break a million-dollar bill.
