Ramifications of Charlie Kirk Assassination Could Be Huge

Right after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, Elon Musk opined on his own X, “The Democrats are the party of murder.”

Exaggerated or justified?

I’ll leave that to the reader, or to someone with personal experience like Rep. Steve Scalise, but they certainly have become the party of maximum hate.

This video, from Trump’s defense lawyers during the impeachments, is a more than routine reminder.

None of this, however, is exactly news, although some of this behavior seems legally actionable. But imagine, for a moment, how the younger generation, college and high school, responded to this crazed vitriol back then. Many of them must have been, at minimum, scratching their heads at their elders.

Charlie Kirk realized that—in fact he had long before—and found optimism in that generation about whom others were cynical. After all, he was practically their peer. He would say he went to the campuses so we wouldn’t have to.

He became quite extraordinary at engaging the students and even at changing their minds—something incredibly difficult to do with people at any age—to the extent that many credit Kirk with being the difference maker in President Trump’s victory in 2024.

It’s rather clear actually that, other than Donald Trump himself, Kirk, a young family man of deep faith, was the most politically influential figure in our country, especially for the all-important younger generation. Many, myself included, considered him presidential material.

That also made him a target for assassination right along with Mr. Trump, although in Charlie’s case it was unfortunately successful. This was a horrible tragedy for his wife and his children and his many friends, indeed for the country, but something else also happened.

Charlie Kirk is now a martyr and a more potent influence than ever for the youth of America and possibly beyond.

The assassin, whoever he or she may be, most likely a professional sniper, or his/her financier(s), blew it. If, as some suggest, the motive was a “color revolution,” good luck.

Morbid as it may sound and as has happened before, Charlie Kirk could be even more influential, even more powerful, in death than in life.

Turning Point, the organization, was a remarkable success. Estimates vary but it has somewhere in the vicinity a half million members. That seems a lot but not so much compared to the number of students in high school and college that is in the vicinity of 35 million.

What do you suppose is the number one topic on campus right now? (Well, except for the usual sports, dating, etc.) Think how many millions of students are now hearing about Charlie Kirk and his organization for the first time, about what happened to him and why? How do you think they will react when their professors start to recite the same old “progressive” palaver?

And how will they respond to yesterday’s hero Barack Obama who informed us on X:

“We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.”

Sassafrass 84 responded:

“We know exactly what fucking motivated them. You started a race war in America. Your party called conservatives nazis and fascists. Your party has blood on its hands.”

The Doves of Magnolia added:

You Obama and your Liberal allies incited this violence through the media. You call white people and Christians evil fascists all day on NBC, CNN, Google, and Reddit. Look what happens. A church got shot up in Minneapolis. A woman was stabbed on a train. And now Charlie Kirk is shot, all of this violence was incited by the liberal media. You reap what you sow, and the leftists sow seeds of hate all day.

It’s a turning point (lower case) alright.
