Jackson County Sheriff Rocky Harnen Jr. could not be reached for more details about the arrest due to the Juneteenth state holiday.

Running on better jobs and ethics reform, McGill took state office in 2010 after defeating Democrat incumbent Lowell Barron. McGill served one four-year term and, in 2016, he unsuccessfully ran against Richard Shelby for the U.S. Senate.
