Emails show Dr. Fauci was WORRIED that NIH might have ties to Coronavirus spread in China last year

Phil Kerpen just posted some emails tonight on Twitter that suggest Dr. Fauci was worried that the NIH might have ties to the coronavirus leak in China.

Here’s the first email from Fauci to Hugh Auchincloss at NIH on February 1st, 2020:

There’s definitely a sense of urgency and alarm in Fauci’s email.

Below is the reply from Auchincloss:

The response from Auchincloss is key, where he says “The paper you sent me says the experiments were performed before the gain of function pause but have since been reviewed and approved by NIH. Not sure what this means since Emily is sure that no Coronavirus work has gone through the P3 framework. She will try to determine if we have any distant ties to this work abroad.”

Kerpen followed up the email reveals with this article from Nature Medicine:

Apparently in March of last year, people found that article and were circulating it as proof that this virus could have come from a lab. DAMN THOSE CONSPIRACY THEORISTS! So Nature editors quickly added an update saying there’s no evidence this came from a lab, that “scientists believe that an animal is the most likely source of the coronavirus.”

Of course now we have the article and the emails above, and according to Tom Cotton, Fauci’s got some answering to do:

The question is will Fauci tell the truth about this? Let’s just say I hope they swear him in the next time he’s before Congress.
