Fauci boasted in diary of pushing officials for COVID school closures, then DENIED it * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh

Anthony Fauci, once the governor’s top adviser on the COVID-19 China virus who pushed for social distancing that likely did little good and demanded shots that actually injured thousands of people, is on record, in his own diary, about pushing officials to close schools.
You know, those school closures that he publicly denied being responsible for.
It is Fox News that wrote about some entries in Fauci’s diary, obtained and released by longtime Fauci critic Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.
They show “a clear contradiction” between his own boasts to himself and his public claims, the report said.
For example, in a March 15, 2020, diary entry he said, “I spoke with Bill de Blasio (Mayor – NYC) and convinced him based on what I was saying publicly and my conversation tonight to close the NYC schools (he had already decided based on what I was saying on TV).”
And he wrote, “I had a similar call with Ann O’Leary, the [Chief of Staff] of Gov. Gavin Newsom of California. Ann said that based on my TV appearances today and yesterday, the Governor has decided to close the schools in California as well as the bars and restaurants.”
However, months later, in an interview on ABC, he flip-flopped.
“Let’s go back and look at the transcript. We said we should try as best as we possibly can to keep the children in school,” Fauci claimed. “Nobody plays that clip. They always come back and say, ‘Fauci was responsible for shutting schools down.’ I had nothing to do [with it]!”
Further, he later told the Hill he “didn’t recommend locking anything down,” again contradicting his own writings.
And in 2024, before the House Oversight Committee, he claimed, “I did not close the schools.”
At the time, he was chief of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, taking a tax-funded salary of hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Since then, he’s retired on a government pension of hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.
His own statements included one from 2020, when he directed de Blasio to close the city.
“I went on to tell him he should close the bars and restaurants in NYC. He said that he would base this on my recommendation,” He said five days later he told the mayor to close the whole city.
“Also, had phone call with [Mayor] de Blasio who wants to go to ‘shelter in place for the entire city.[‘] He is asking my advice since Gov. Cuomo is pushing back. I advised DeBlasio [sic] to go ahead and do it. I will try to speak with Cuomo,” he wrote.
Another confession was about a call with Mark Ghaly (Deputy Director for Community Health for the LA County Dept of Health Services). He has called me several times for advice. Frantic call saying that they are surging in LA County and very soon hospital beds will be overrun. He wants to do a 3 weeks shutdown of the city to ‘stop the surge’ and wants my support since there is a large pushback to locking down. I agreed to support him,” he wrote.
Back on the other side, in 2022 he told the “Rising” podcast, “Well, you know, again, first of all, I didn’t recommend locking anything down.”
The quiet part did come out at least one time. To CBS at the time he was writing his boasts in his diary, he said, “When it became clear that we had community spread in the country, with a few cases of community spread — this was way before there was a major explosion like we saw in the northeastern corridor driven by New York City metropolitan area — I recommended to the president that we shut the country down,” Fox documented

Dr. Fauci’s own diary, in his own words, shows he knew the lab leak theory was credible from the very first weeks of the pandemic. 10 of 12 scientists on his call believed deliberate insertion was possible. He wrote that the wet market was never the real source. Then he spent the…
