Following through on President Donald Trump’s NATO Summit promise for further military action against Iran, the U.S. military commenced a fresh round of strikes on the Islamic Republic Wednesday.

“At the direction of the Commander in Chief, U.S. Central Command forces have started conducting additional strikes against Iran to further degrade their ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM announced.

“The United States is holding Iran accountable for recent unjustified aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews freely navigating a vital international waterway.”

Independent journalist Nick Sortor noted: “47 gave them fair warning. Iran decided to ignore him. I’d imagine that won’t work out well for them.”

Earlier Wednesday, when asked about the status of the ceasefire with Iran, Trump told reporters: “It’s a very interesting question. To me, I think it’s over. I don’t want to deal with them anymore. They’re scum … They’re led by sick people. They’re vicious, violent people and if they had a nuclear weapon, they’d use it.”

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s just a waste of time dealing with them. They’re liars. … There’s something wrong with them. They’re cuckoo.”
