President Donald Trump, whose schedule in the Oval Office and out has been perceived as grueling, has yet to have a slow day on the job, apparently.
But he is 79 years old.
And on Friday the White House confirmed he had been diagnosed with “chronic venous insufficiency,” a condition described as a “benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”
The announcement said, “Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.”
The Washington Examiner said the condition is characterized by a diminished blood recirculation.
Photographs of the president recently have suggested a swelling in the lower part of his legs, as well as bruising on the back of his right hand.

That was dismissed as a “well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump is “in excellent health, which I think all of you witness on a daily basis here.”
The Examiner reported, “Trump frequently made former President Joe Biden’s visible mental and physical decline a core focus of his 2024 election platform. Though younger than his predecessor, Trump will be 83 by the time his term concludes in 2028, one year older than Biden was when he left office earlier this year.”
