President Trump gives Chinese President Xi Jinping a White House tour

President Trump was seen giving Xi Jinping a tour of the White House on Thursday, showing off the new renovations since he took office.  

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed Xi and his wife, Madame Peng, to the White House this morning. Trump and Xi delivered remarks, exchanged gifts, and observed a military review.

The festivities included a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber and an F-22 flyover.

Following the ceremonies, Trump gave Xi a tour of the White House and showed Xi the Biden autopen portrait on the White House Rose Garden’s “Presidential Walk of Fame” before taking a photo in front of the Oval Office.

After a closed-press bilateral meeting with Xi, Trump took him to see the new granite White House helipad, which was completed this month, and the two boarded Marine One for a few minutes.

Afterward, Trump told the raving crowd of reporters that they had a “great meeting.” He added, “He has great interest in granite,” a reference to the helipad. “He likes granite. He’s an expert on stones, aside from many other things, and he loves good granite,” Trump joked.

At one point, Trump also showed off some of the portraits hanging in the West Wing, one of which features Xi shaking hands with Trump. “Who is that? I don’t recognize him,” Trump jokes to the cameras while showing Xi the photo. “That’s great. We have a lot of respect for you,” Trump told Xi.
