YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS UP: Radical Leftist Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum to Sue Trump Admin After ICE Forced to Shoot Illegal Alien Trying to Run Over Border Agents * The Gateway Pundit * by Jim Hᴏft

Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum announces she’s pursuing legal action against the Trump admin after an ICE agent shot a Mexican national illegal alien who tried to run over agents with his car during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Houston.
According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, on Tuesday morning around 6:50 a.m., plainclothes agents conducting a targeted enforcement operation attempted to arrest Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican national illegal alien.
On July 7, 2026, at approximately 6:50 AM CT, ICE law enforcement attempted to conduct a vehicle stop as part of a targeted enforcement operation to arrest an illegal alien. The driver of the vehicle, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo—an illegal alien from Mexico—attempted to evade arrest. From information we are receiving, he rammed an ICE law enforcement vehicle, refused to follow multiple verbal commands, and weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer resulting in our officer firing his weapon in self-defense.
The driver was struck, and emergency services were immediately contacted. The driver was transported to the hospital where he passed away from his injuries. DHS-OIG is leading an investigation into the agent-involved shooting. FBI Houston is leading an investigation into the potential assault on a federal law enforcement officer. This is a developing situation, and we will update the public when more information is available.
But instead of condemning the violent assault on a U.S. federal officer, radical leftist Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is rushing to the defense of the attacker and threatening to sue the Trump administration.
Sheinbaum declared there has been “another death of a Mexican national in the United States” and claimed the shooting is part of a “broader pattern of mistreatment of Mexican migrants.”
Speaking during her daily press conference, Sheinbaum said Mexico “cannot turn a blind eye” to the deaths of Mexican citizens during U.S. immigration operations and vowed to seek accountability through the American legal system. Mexico also plans to pursue civil litigation against private companies operating immigration detention facilities.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Thursday that her government plans to file criminal complaints in the U.S. regarding Mexican citizens who have died in immigration custody or while being targeted in anti-immigration operations.

“We cannot turn a blind eye to the Mexicans who have died,” Sheinbaum said during her daily press conference, adding that the criminal complaints will seek to hold accountable those considered to have committed homicides or human rights violations.
Sheinbaum said that her government provides assistance to all citizens who request it, but “especially to Mexicans whose only crime is working honestly in the United States.”

Mexican Foreign Minister Roberto Velasco said the move comes after repeated failed attempts to engage with the U.S. through diplomatic channels.
“We are going to move beyond the diplomatic sphere and go directly to U.S. prosecutors to file complaints regarding these incidents, requesting that they are investigated as criminal matters,” Velasco said.
