WATCH: Trump Goes Off on NATO During Meeting With Secretary General Mark Rutte, Steamrolls Rutte with Greenland Demands * The Gateway Pundit * by Jordan Conradson

During a testy meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday morning, President Trump eviscerated NATO allies and made it clear that he still wants to purchase Greenland.
Though he was cordial, describing Rutte as a “great leader” and NATO’s “biggest asset,” Trump made the Secretary General grovel to him and cut him off multiple times as he defended NATO.
To open the bilateral meeting, Trump first unloaded on NATO members over their refusal to help with Iran and the Greenland issue, notably taking aim at Spain.
The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that Trump slammed Spain as “a terrible partner in NATO” and declared he wants to “cut off all trade with Spain, including visits.”
“Watch them come running back. Oh, they’ll come running back,” Trump said of Spain, further describing them as “hopeless, bad people” and “hostile.” He added, “Let’s see how hostile they remain when they call up, and they— ‘please, please, we want to trade with you, sir, we want to trade with you, sir!’ They make so much money with us, and we’re going to see that they make a lot less. I want no business with them.”
Trump also slammed the other NATO countries, noting that the US “spent over a trillion dollars over the last short period; trillion in order to protect these countries from Russia, and it has nothing to do with us.” He continued, “We have an ocean, but it’s been a long-term thing, and they haven’t treated us right.”
“We’ve been treated unfairly. We pay disproportionately. We, we had a time when we were paying 100%. We were paying 100% of NATO, and yet a lot of the countries weren’t paying anything,” Trump added, noting that nobody was there for the US during the war with Iran. “I’m very upset with NATO, that we pay far, far too much, billions and billions of dollars too much, because it’s unfair, because we’re protecting them. So, we protect them, but they’re not there for us.”
But Trump’s most notable focus in the meeting was Greenland, which he is renewing his interest in after his previous discussions with Mark Rutte, which fell short of giving the island over to the US.
“I’m not happy with NATO because of what they did with Greenland, and I’m not happy with NATO because of the fact that they didn’t want to help us with the number one state sponsor of terror, that’s Iran. They were unwilling to help us,” Trump said.
“Greenland is a big problem for us, and the other big problem is the fact that when we wanted them, we didn’t want them badly, but we did say, ‘If you want to join us,’ and they all said no, but when they could have, they weren’t there for us, and we’ve been there for them.”

When Mark Rutte was speaking, he began excusing NATO members’ refusal to assist with Iran, and Trump cut him off, noting that “the United Kingdom wouldn’t let us use the island for two weeks, and Italy was very bad, having to do with their bases, as you know.”
Rutte, however, still attempted to defend Europe for allowing 5,000 US planes to take off from European airports. When Rutte mentioned Greenland, Trump cut him off again, asserting that Greenland belongs to the US.
“Greenland is very important for the United States, but it’s not important for Denmark. In fact, when Denmark was overrun by the Nazis in less than one day, Hitler beat them out in one day, took over, they asked us to take care of Greenland. In fact, we took Greenland, and then, stupidly, we gave it back,” Trump continued. “We shouldn’t have given it back to them, because we’re the ones that need it. We need it for protection of the world, not just the United States. And it’s very important. It doesn’t help Denmark, but it helps us, and it’s very important for us.”
This sparked a brief back-and-forth between Trump and Rutte, with the NATO Secretary General desperately groveling to appease Trump as he took over the conversation.
