President Trump Participates in a Visit with the 2024 World Series Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers

President Trump will host most of the 2025 World Champion Dodgers team at the White House this afternoon for a second year in a row after two consecutive World Series wins.

Notably absent from the festivities will be Puerto Rican-born utility player Kiké Hernández, who is currently on an injury rehab assignment, playing for the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate, the Oklahoma City Comets.

Still, according to Fox, Hernandez said, “If I was active, I probably wouldn’t have gone anyways.”

This is after he visited the White House last year and described the honor as uneventful, noting that the President, whom he referred to as “The guy,” just “gave his speech.” Hernandez “wasn’t really interested in talking to him anyway,” he said.

“We went to the White House that morning,” Hernández said, according to the New York Post. “They had us sit in a room for about three hours. Then they told us to stand up and get in line. We waited for a couple more hours. And then they took us to the stage. The guy gave his speech, and we left.”

“I didn’t talk to him, but I wasn’t really interested in talking to him anyway,” he said when asked if he’d spoken to the President.

Fox News contributor Joe Concha previously reacted to Hernandez’s decision to skip the White House visit by noting his abysmal World Series performance, where he went 5 for 28 at the plate (.179 BA).

“The bottom line is that this guy, not exactly key to the Dodgers winning their World Series; .237 lifetime hitter,” Concha said, crediting Freddy Freeman and Shohei Ohtani for the win.

Mookie Betts was also expected to skip the visit. Per Fox, “Betts previously made headlines when he opted not to visit the White House with the Boston Red Sox in 2019, during Donald Trump’s first term.”

Trump is scheduled to host the team for an event in the Rose Garden at 4:30 pm ET.
