Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist recently appeared on FOX News and spoke to host Laura Ingraham about the left’s apparent inability to feel patriotism.

Hemingway correctly suggests that this has been building for years, but goes on to say that the left’s hatred of Trump has morphed into a general hatred of the country.

It’s sad that this is so accurate. The left’s love of country is conditional. They are only happy when they are in charge.

LARUA INGRAHAM: Here to weigh in Mollie Hemingway Fox News contributor and editor in chief of The Federalist. Mollie, great to see you tonight. How can Democrats be as angry as they are? They’re seething. When you look at some of the left wing media, places like The Atlantic, Salon, The Daily Beast. They’re just furious about all this red, white and blue stuff. Images like this today, makes them very angry.

MOLLIE HEMINGWAY: It does. We’ve seen from the left a lot of hatred of a person. Hatred of Donald Trump. What we’ve seen recently with some of these election results, their reaction to America 250 is that that has just become general hatred of America. We saw some of that, we’ve had some of that for years. That’s what kneeling at the flag or refusing to stand for the anthem. A rejection of the patriotism that used to be very bipartisan. Unfortunately, in one sector of the country, it’s completely gone away.

Democrats have always felt a need to apologize for America for some reason, but during the age of Trump they have convinced themselves that something has gone wrong with the country and that we have turned into an authoritarian state.

It’s utter insanity, but they believe it.

This makes it impossible for them to feel any pride in their country. They are incapable of feeling patriotism because they live under the delusion that the country is currently in some form of existential crisis.
