In an apparent capitulation to the radical left and negative media coverage, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have been directed to stop pulling over vehicles driven by illegal aliens. 

Multiple sources from the Department of Homeland Security revealed to the Daily Wire that they’ve been told, “no more vehicle stops for now.” This will heavily impact ICE’s ability to arrest illegal aliens without a judicial warrant when they are outside of their homes.

One agency source decried the decision, referencing the decreasing deportation figures. “Numbers are going down, we can’t do sh*t,” they said.

This comes after fatal ICE-involved shootings in Maine and Texas.

On Monday, 26-year-old Joan Sebastian Guerrero of Colombia attempted to run over ICE agents during a targeted enforcement operation on Monday morning, and he was fatally shot, The Gateway Pundit reported. In Texas, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was fatally shot after ramming an ICE vehicle, ignoring commands, and trying to run over an agent last week.

A witness to the shooting in Maine confirmed on Monday that the vehicle was “put into drive and was trying to hit the ICE officer” before shots were fired, killing the suspect.

Still, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin is pulling back due to liberal outrage. So much for mass deportations.

Fox's Bill Melugin confirmed the report, citing multiple federal sources:

This comes after two people were killed by ICE in shootings in TX and ME in the last week in incidents that began as vehicle stops. DHS alleges one of those incidents was a ramming attempt.

I’m told this will be temporary until ICE officers receive new training on vehicle stops.

The policy change will have significant impacts as many of ICE’s arrests begin as vehicle stops when they find and follow a target, as we’ve witnessed on multiple embeds.
