Sen. John Fetterman Warns Democratic Party is Becoming an ‘Orgy of Socialism’ After Mamdani-Backed Candidates Sweep New York Primaries * The Gateway Pundit * by Ben Kew
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has warned that the Democrat Party is being overtaken by the far-left.
His comments come after a string of Democratic Socialists of America-backed candidates scored major primary victories in New York.
Speaking to The New York Post, Fetterman said the results vindicated his previous warning that the Democratic Party was becoming an “orgy of socialism.”
“I said months ago, I said the Democratic Party is becoming an orgy of socialism. These recent elections vindicate my description.”
Among the biggest upsets was 32-year-old doctoral student Darializa Avila Chevalier, who defeated longtime incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat in a Democratic primary.
“Chevalier described America as a fu**ing disgrace. She posted ‘fu** Kamala Harris’ and posted that she forgot napkins and wiped her hands on the American flag.”
“She wants to abolish the border, abolish prisons,” he continued. “That is a deeply disturbed individual.”
He also mocked Maine Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner and Chevalier as the “dirtbag left’s new power couple,” referencing Platner’s controversial online posts that surfaced during his campaign.

The socialist surge extended beyond Chevalier.
State Assemblywoman Claire Valdez won the Democratic primary to replace retiring Rep. Nydia Velázquez in New York’s 7th Congressional District, while Brad Lander defeated Rep. Dan Goldman in the 10th District.
Both districts are heavily Democratic, making the winners overwhelming favorites in November.
Despite his increasingly public criticism of his party, Fetterman stopped short of announcing a party switch.
“Even if I changed my party, my votes or views wouldn’t change,” he said.

Fetterman has frequently broken with fellow Democrats, including backing President Donald Trump’s strikes on Iran and opposing efforts to limit the president’s war powers.
Back in March, several leading Democrats publicly called for his ouster after he voted to confirm Markwayne Mullin as Trump’s choice for Secretary of Homeland Security.
He insisted that his vote was “rooted in a strong, committed, constructive working relationship with Senator Mullin for our nation’s security.”
Last month, it was reported that Republicans were attempting to try and flip Fetterman and convince him to stand for the GOP, although
Fetterman responded to the report by saying he would be a “shi**y Republican.”
“I’m not changing,” Fetterman said at the time. “I’m a Democrat, and I’m staying one. “
