President Trump on Sunday highlighted the violent weekend in Chicago, Illinois, blasting Democratic Illinois Governor JB Pritzker for opposing federal intervention to stop crime.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, 12 were injured with gunshot wounds on Friday after a pair of drive-by shooters opened fire on a Juneteenth celebration, shooting over 100 rounds. One more individual sustained unknown injuries during the incident.

"Lots of Killing going on in Chicago," Trump said on Sunday morning, highlighting "22 people shot, at least 4 Dead" and questioning the Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, for refusing federal assistance with the crime problem.

"I could make Chicago a safe City in ONE MONTH, in ONE YEAR, it would be one of the safest!!!"

Lots of Killing going on in Chicago. 22 people shot, at least 4 Dead. Why isn’t Governor Pritzker calling me for help. I could make Chicago a safe City in ONE MONTH, in ONE YEAR, it would be one of the safest!!! D.C. went from one of the worst, to one of the safest cities in the U.S. President DJT

Trump's statement, however, is too generous.

Per ABC 7, at least 33 people have been shot as of Sunday morning, including five fatally. Victims' ages range from 15 to 47 years old.

After the Friday night shooting that injured 13, various other shootings in the warzone of Chicago injured 20 more and took multiple lives. A 15-year-old boy was even shot outside of a McDonald's on Saturday evening.

Shots were also fired at another gathering in the Lawndale neighborhood Saturday night, injuring three older teens.

President Trump has long talked about the violent crime in Chicago and other cities. Previously, the Supreme Court ruled against Trump deploying Texas National Guard Troops stationed in Chicago to protect ICE agents from left-wing terrorists and stop crime.

“We’ll go back in, and we may, if we, you know, we’re allowed to, the most powerful thing we have, we haven’t used, the Insurrection Act,” Trump said in January.
