UPDATE:

Per Fox’s Trey Yingst, Iran has announced it will halt attacks on Israel.

Israel and Hezbollah also traded missiles, Yingst reported just before 8 am ET.

President Trump on Monday called for Israel and Iran to “immediately” end the fighting after a flare-up in the war on Sunday led to continued fighting overnight, with the war entering its 100th day.

“I call the shots. I call all the shots. He [Netanyahu] doesn’t call the shots,” Trump also told the Financial Times on Sunday before Israel launched strikes in Iran.

Early on Monday, Trump said in a Truth Social Post, “Israel and Iran must immediately stop ‘shooting.’ President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

In a follow-up post, Trump echoed his demands for a ceasefire and a “final deal,” crediting “ignorance or stupidity” for the delay. “Things should move quickly,” he said.

Both sides, Israel and Iran, are looking to do an immediate CEASEFIRE! Final negotiations on “Peace” are proceeding, subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way. The Blockade will remain in place, and in full force and effect, until a “Final Deal” is reached. Things should move quickly. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

This comes after Iran and Israel traded missiles on Sunday into Monday.

Israel launched an attack in Beirut, Lebanon, on Sunday morning after intercepting Hezbollah missiles in northern Israel, leading to a response from Iran. After Iran launched a ballistic missile attack targeting northern Israel in what the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps described as a “warning” of a wider response, Trump called for Netanyahu to stand down and not retaliate as he attempts to negotiate an end to the war with Iran.

Trump reportedly spoke to Netanyahu by phone on Sunday evening, telling him, “We are close to doing something good in terms of a deal,” according to a US official familiar with the call. Netanyahu, after pushing back on Trump, “pseudo-agreed” to stop fighting.

However, Israel later announced that it launched retaliatory strikes in western and central Iran on Sunday night. "The Air Force, guided by Military Intelligence, struck military targets of the Iranian terror regime in western and central Iran a short while ago," the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

Hours later, Houthi forces in Yemen targeted central Israel with ballistic missiles. Fox's Trey Yingst reported that air raid sirens were sounding across Tel Aviv, and citizens were seeking shelter after the IDF detected incoming missiles from Yemen.

Fighting continued into Monday with at least six attacks traded between the two countries. Iranian officials are blaming the US for the resumption of fighting. "Without a doubt ... the actions of the Zionist regime in the region cannot be separated from U.S. policies," foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said during a press conference on Monday. "No one believes that the Zionist regime would carry out any action without prior coordination and cooperation with the United States."

More from CBS:

Israel and Iran traded fire early Monday in retaliatory strikes that threatened to drag the wider Middle East back into a regional war.

Israeli authorities said two waves of Iranian missiles targeted the country and urged the public to seek shelter. Explosions could be heard in central Israel as Israeli air defenses sought to intercept the incoming Iranian fire.

Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard said it had targeted two military bases in Israel, describing the attack as being part of Operation Nasr, or "Victory." The Guard said it launched the missiles after Israel targeted radar sites in three areas of Iran.

Israel and Iran both said Israel hit an Iranian petrochemical plant.

Israel launched strikes on central and western Iran early Monday in response to missile fire from Tehran, in the most serious crossfire since an April 8 ceasefire was reached in the Iran war.

The IDF released footage from one strike against Iranian air defense systems after hitting targets in western and central Iran. "The destruction of the systems further expands the Air Force's air superiority in Iranian skies, with the aim of continuing to remove threats to the citizens of the State of Israel," the IDF said in a statement.
