Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass Says it's 'Sad' That Latino Americans Are Joining ICE (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit | by Mike LaChance
Screencap of Twitter/x video.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass recently appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer and said that it’s ‘sad’ that Latino Americans would join ICE.
Her typically liberal comments match the sentiment of others on the left who can’t understand this either. A few weeks ago, liberal commentator Krystal Ball openly expressed the same ignorance.
They simply cannot comprehend that an American who is Latino might actually believe in the rule of law and official immigration policy.

LA Mayor Bass laments historic Latino Border Patrol recruitment surge across southern border
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is lamenting the historic numbers of Latinos joining the Border Patrol.
In an interview Friday with Wolf Blitzer on “The Situation Room,” Blitzer asked Bass, “But first, let me get your reaction to that report from David Culver we just heard. What did you think?”
“Well, in a way, I think it’s sad,” Bass responded. “I think that those Border Patrol agents are going to have a difficult time when they’re out in the field and they see what actually happens in real life separate from their training. But I do understand that their primary incentive is financial. I think it just speaks to the financial situation that millions of Americans find themselves in. And I definitely am concerned about that report.”
Earlier on the show, Culver did a special report on “The Situation Room” talking to new Border Patrol recruits.

The New York Post has more on the report Bass was responding to:
The report Bass was asked to respond to included interviews with Hispanic agents and recruits explaining how they respond to critics who say they are arresting their “own kind” or “own blood.”
“They didn‘t come in the right way. So, they aren‘t my kind,” 20-year-old Border Patrol recruit Juan Peralta told CNN correspondent David Culver.
Border Patrol Agent Claudio Herrera explained that he has no qualms with carrying out his duties.
“I’m protecting my community,” the proud agent said. “I’m protecting both sides of the border.”
More than half of Border Patrol agents are Hispanic, according to federal government data.
This says so much more about Karen Bass than it does about the brave men and women of ICE.
