An entitled Rhode Island Democrat went on a self-absorbed tirade before and after breaking the law in embarrassing fashion last week.

As The Daily Mail reported, 51-year-old Maria A. Bucci, the chairwoman of Cranston’s Democratic Committee, was charged with driving under the influence on December 18 after a traffic stop.

The Boston Globe obtained court documents that showed that police pulled Bucci, a former mayoral candidate, over for having “severely bloodshot, glassy and watery eyes.” They also detected “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from inside the vehicle.”

However, Bucci apparently thought her Democratic privilege would shield her from trouble as she repeatedly told officers, “Do you know who I am?”

Not surprisingly, police recognized she was a figure of minor importance and proceeded to do their job. This only made Bucci angrier, as she proceeded to berate the officers in a vulgar manner.

The Mail notes that as officers attempted to administer field sobriety tests, Bucci interfered by insulting them and asking them a series of personal questions, including their ages.

She also tried to get a relative to bail her out.

Bucci later played the race card and attempted to leverage her political connections to extricate herself from trouble.

“Call my husband right now and call the attorney general and everybody else in town. This is disgusting. God forbid I was a black person, I’d be arrested,” she said.

She later bizarrely asked, “What are you going to do, shoot me?” as one of the officers, Anthony St. Laurent, tried to show her one of the tests.

After Bucci continued to argue over the field sobriety tests, St. Laurent placed her under arrest. This took Bucci’s rage to another level as she called the officer a “d**k” and a “loser.”

“Give me the camera, you’re a d**k, she whined. “Like, I am not drinking. You’re a loser.”

Police said that Bucci’s insane tirade continued after she was transferred to police headquarters.

They claimed that she continued to call St. Laurent an ‘evil (expletive) piece of (expletive).’

The report stated that Bucci cried out that she had ‘told her kids if they ever became a cop I’d kill them,’ before adding, ‘only clowns become cops.’

‘During booking, Ms. Bucci continued her ferocious attack of abusive comments by stating, “I’m going to get you mother******”,’ St. Laurent wrote in the documents.

The Mail reported Bucci was charged with a misdemeanor DUI but was released shortly afterward on a $1,000 bond.
