Is Diddy boozing at Dix?

When Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyers asked for the disgraced rap mogul to serve his prison time in low-security FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, the stated reasons were that it would be closer for family to visit, and also because the federal lockup has substance abuse programs that – if successfully completed – could shave almost a year out of his sentence.

However, news arose yesterday that Diddy may be slipping into old habits, getting busted by prison officials for drinking alcohol behind bars.

TMZ reported:

“Sources with knowledge tell TMZ Diddy had some homemade alcohol in Fort Dix, the low-security prison where he’s doing time. We’re told the alcohol is made of Fanta, sugar and apples, which inmates give two weeks to ferment into an alcoholic substance.

We’re told Diddy got caught by jail officials and prison officials planned to move him from his old unit into a new one. Two sources tell TMZ prison officials have now reversed their decision and Diddy will stay put.”

Diddy’s defense repeatedly mentioned his newfound sobriety, saying that substance abuse made him behave in an unacceptable way.

“He wrote in a letter to the Judge, ‘The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you — I choose to live’.”

After the rapper left the infamous Brooklyn MDC prison where he spent over a year, he was pictured comfortably chatting with fellow inmates at Fort Dix.

Spokesman for the Combs family:

“Mr. Combs is in his first week at FCI Fort Dix and is focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day. As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there—most of them untrue. We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose.”
