A man with 49 prior arrests doused a woman with a flammable liquid and set her on fire on a Chicago train this week.

50-year-old Lawrence Reed was hit with federal terrorism charges after he set a 26-year-old woman on fire aboard the Blue Line on Monday evening.

Reed repeatedly shouted, “Burn b*tch!” as the victim rolled around trying to put out the fire.

Good Samaritans eventually helped put out the fire.

The victim was hospitalized with severe injuries.

Reed has 49 prior arrests, according to CBS News.

“Reed has a long criminal record. CBS News Chicago found 49 arrests — including 10 felony cases. Three cases were later dropped, six ended up with convictions ranging from probation to 30 days in the Cook County Jail — and in the case of one drug conviction from 2003, two years in Illinois state prison,” CBS reported.

NBC Chicago reported:

A suspect who allegedly poured a flammable liquid on a 26-year-old woman and set her on fire onboard a CTA train this week is now facing federal terrorism charges.

According to charging documents filed in the U.S. District Court’s Northern District of Illinois, 50-year-old Lawrence Reed is being charged with a federal count of committing a terrorist attack on a mass transit system.

He is accused of setting a 26-year-old woman on fire as she rode on a CTA Blue Line train in the Loop on Monday night, with the woman hospitalized in critical condition due to the severe injuries she suffered.

According to the charging document, Chicago police were called to the Clark/Lake train stop just before 9:30 p.m. Monday for reports of a woman who had been on fire at the location. When they arrived, they found that victim, who had suffered severe burns to her face and body.

When police got onboard a Blue Line train at the station, they found a partially melted bottle, a lighter, flammable liquid and other evidence on a seat where the woman had been positioned onboard the train, according to the charging documents.
