Police officer sent home after bumping into college player in bizarre incident
A TEXAS cop was stood down from his game day assignment after bumping into South Carolina star Nyck Harbor.
The bizarre incident occurred during South Carolina‘s college football game against Texas A&M on Saturday.

During the first half at Kyle Field, Harbor scored a brilliant touchdown.
In making the intense sprint to score, the 20-year-old appeared to hurt himself.
Straight after scoring, Harbor lightly jogged down the tunnel while clutching the back of his thigh.
The South Carolina star swiftly returned alongside teammate Oscar Adaway III.

As they made their way back out, a police officer appeared to bump into Harbor.
The uniformed cop immediately turned round and pointed towards the football stars.
He allegedly seemed to bellow, “Get out of here!”
The South Carolina duo looked perplexed at the incident before quickly running back onto the field.

The Texas Department of Public Safety later released a statement, confirming that they were “aware of the incident that occurred today during the Texas A&M football game.”
Their statement then added, “The DPS Trooper involved was sent home from the game.

“Our Office of Inspector General is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter.”
Meanwhile, Texas A&M police added, “We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper. He has been relieved of his game day assignment.”
Texas A&M went on to win the epic game 31-30 – moving to 10-0 in the process.
But the main talking point coming out of the contest was the cop altercation.

Among those to criticise the incident was NBA superstar LeBron James.
“That A&M cop needs to suspended! That was premeditated and corny AF!!” the Los Angeles Lakers veteran wrote on X.
“He went out his way to start some s***. Do better man.”
After the game, South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer said, “Got a ton of respect for the people here in College Station. They’re just a first-class operation, everybody.
