Pornhub has since reached out to more than 200 million premium users, warning their data may have been stolen during the breach.

Hackers are said to be extorting the pornography platform after search and watch history was reportedly stolen.

According to MailOnline, the adult site confirmed “unauthorised access” had been gained through a third party data company.

It said: “We recently learned that an unauthorised party gained unauthorised access to analytics data stored with Mixpanel, a third-party data analytics service provider.

“The unauthorised party was able to use this unauthorised access to extract a limited set of analytics events for some users.”

Mixpanel, which offers its clients a detailed view of user data, revealed it had suffered a cybersecurity incident on November 27.

The company said it was aware of Pornhub’s statement, but there was no indication data had been stolen from the November breach.

It told Bleeping Computer: “Mixpanel is aware of reports that Pornhub has been extorted with data that that was allegedly stolen from us.

“We can find no indication that this data was stolen from Mixpanel during our November 2025 security Incident or otherwise.

“The data was last accessed by a legitimate employee account at Pornhub’s parent company in 2023.

“If this data is in the hands of an unauthorised party, we do not believe that is the result of a security incident at Mixpanel.”

ShinyHunters is an established hacking group linked to a string of high-profile hacks.

It has made a number of extortion attempts in recent months, including data on customers of Salesforce and luxury retailers in the U.K.

Pornhub confirmed the issue had only affected premium users, adding financial information and passwords had not been accessed.

It said: “A recent cybersecurity incident involving Mixpanel, a third-party data analytics provider, has impacted some Pornhub Premium users.

“Specifically, this situation affects only select Premium users.

“It is important to note this was not a breach of Pornhub Premium’s systems.

“Passwords, payment details, and financial information remain secure and were not exposed.”

For premium access – including HD videos, ad-free viewing and virtual reality content – users pay roughly £11 a month.

It provides them with more than 100,000 premium videos that non-paying users cannot see.

ShinyHunters reportedly told the adult site it has access to 94GB of data of data belonging to premium users.

According to Bleeping Computer, email addresses, locations, videos watched, and keywords associated with videos were accessed.

The stolen data also reportedly shows when videos were watched and if they were downloaded.

Last month, cyber experts warned the public over a colossal collection of 1.3billion passwords exposed online – putting accounts at risk.

Have I Been Pwned (HIBP), a website that alerts people if their private data has been spotted in the wild, issued a stark warning.

It described the breach as “the most extensive corpus of data we’ve ever processed“.
