Live updates: Will Marine Le Pen run?

PARIS — Marine Le Pen has a decision to make.
An appeals court upheld the French far-right chief’s conviction for embezzling European Parliament funds but, in a twist, may have cleared a path for her to stand in the 2027 election.

In the lead up to today’s verdict, Le Pen had said she would not mount a bid for the Elysée Palace wearing an ankle monitor, as it would be impossible to run a proper campaign.
