Trump Praises Blanche, Pushes Senate to Confirm for Attorney General

President Donald Trump praised acting Attorney General Todd Blanche on Tuesday, touting his leadership at the Justice Department while urging Senate Republicans to swiftly confirm him as the nation’s attorney general.
In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump credited Blanche with overseeing a sharp decline in violent crime, highlighting what he described as the lowest murder rate since 1900, a record one-year drop in recorded murders, increased violent crime arrests, and the seizure of more than 500 million deadly doses of illegal drugs.
“Todd has fought hard for Religious Liberty, ended the Weaponization of our Justice System, protected FREE SPEECH, kept Men OUT of Women’s Sports, strengthened Election Integrity, and gone to all-out-WAR against Fraud like nobody in the History of the Department of Justice,” Trump continued.
Trump also highlighted Blanche’s role as his personal defense attorney during multiple criminal prosecutions brought against him before the 2024 election, saying Blanche “stood by my side and fought off the Lawfare” and calling on every Republican senator to vote to confirm him “ASAP.”
Blanche, a former federal prosecutor who represented Trump in several high-profile criminal cases before joining the administration, has sought to project stability and professionalism at the Justice Department while advancing Trump’s policy agenda.
