Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., on Sunday released a public statement addressing his health status after an emergency landed him in the hospital since June 14.

McConnell’s office had disclosed limited information up until this point.

McConnell said in a statement that a fall led to his current hospitalization.

Kentucky’s Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear called on McConnell to provide a public health update.

McConnell also released a photo with his wife Elaine Chao, the former secretary of Transportation under President Trump.
