Rep. Omar Says Iran Hasn't Attacked Americans, Despite Evidence

Progressive Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar blasted President Donald Trump on Tuesday, claiming that “no one is attacking or has attacked Americans,” despite information indicating otherwise.
Lawmakers in both chambers are currently debating how the United States should respond to a raging conflict between Israel and Iran, with some lawmakers hoping to curb the president’s ability to send U.S. forces to the Middle East.
Trump posted to Truth Social that he would not be attacking Iran “for now” but warned the country that America’s patience is “wearing thin.”
“No one is attacking or has attacked Americans. It’s time to stop dragging Americans into war and letting Israel once again get America involved in their chosen war,” Omar insisted in a post on X. “Stand up for the Americans who believed you wanted peace and don’t commit another generation of Americans into a costly war.”
Omar’s statement appears to contradict reports that Iranian proxies are responsible for many attacks on U.S. forces in recent years, and even claims that the Iranian regime tried to assassinate Trump in 2024, including through “murder-for-hire” operations.
