Turning Point USA contributor and former Navy intelligence officer Jack Posobiec told Newsmax on Sunday that President Donald Trump retains a full range of military options against Iran even as negotiations continue toward a possible peace framework.

Posobiec told “Sunday Report” and guest host John Tabacco that Trump has positioned the United States to pursue diplomacy while maintaining significant military leverage in the region.

“The president has all options on the table and certainly has every card to play,” Posobiec said.

His comments came after U.S. forces struck surveillance radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz on Friday and as the House on Wednesday passed a War Powers resolution aimed at limiting the president’s military authority.

Posobiec said Trump had effectively used U.S. naval power to demonstrate Iran’s vulnerability in the strategically important waterway.

“He was the one who used the strategic naval power of our U.S. Navy forces to point out that the Strait of Hormuz was just as much of a choke point for the Iranians, and more so than it was for the United States,” Posobiec said.

“We don’t get our oil from there, but that’s how they sell their oil on the world market.”

Posobiec characterized the current situation as “brinksmanship,” saying Trump has preserved the ability to resume military operations if negotiations fail.
