Bondi blasts Democrats in Senate hearing over integrity remarks

Attorney General Pam Bondi exploded at Senate Democrats multiple times on Tuesday during a fiery oversight hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Bondi was questioned by the panel about her record at the Justice Department, which she has strongly defended while criticizing federal judges for allegedly participating in judicial “activism.”
“My attorneys have done incredible work advancing President Trump’s agenda and protecting the executive branch from judicial overreach,” she told the panel. “We’ve been sued more than 400 times. Since January 20, judges have issued more than 90 temporary restraining orders against us, more than the previous several administrations combined.
“Despite the unprecedented degree of activism we’ve seen from the lower courts, we have never ignored a court order, and why would we have secured a historic 22 victories at the Supreme Court alone, with more to come,” she added.
One of the attorney general’s most fiery moments occurred during questioning from Democratic Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who appeared to question her integrity, despite allegedly lying about his own military history in the past.
