UFC Hall of Famers Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock told Newsmax on Friday how excited they are that the mixed martial arts organization is holding an event at the White House on Sunday.

UFC Freedom 250 will be held Sunday night at the White House South Lawn. The show is timed to coincide with President Donald Trump's 80th birthday and the celebration of the nation's 250th anniversary.

Ortiz noted he competed in front of the president at UFC 30, which was held at Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

"This event is just phenomenal, it's amazing, mind blowing," Ortiz said on "American Agenda." "I couldn't even imagine competing in front of the White House.

"But everybody in this country has been fighting for something. And for 250 years, we've been fighting for this to happen. And as a fighter, I'm proud to see that UFC is at the White House."

Shamrock called it a historic opportunity for the fighters competing on the card.

"This is very special," Shamrock said. "It's something that you get to do once in a lifetime, so I'm really excited.

"I'm really excited for the work [UFC CEO] Dana [White] put in. I'm really excited to see what Trump has been doing with our nation and being able to put us in a better position. So I think these two coming together is a great story."

Shamrock said he believes Justin Gaethje will defeat Ilia Topuria in their fight.

"I think he's going to destroy him," Shamrock said. "I think he's just a beast."

"Knowing Dana White, he's definitely going to put together a great card," Shamrock added. "He's going to have the greatest fighters out there to perform."
