Sen. Dave McCormick was proud to put Pennsylvania on display in an appearance on Newsmax Friday.

McCormick was appearing from the Great American State Fair at the National Mall. Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said his state would not have a booth since they could not find a sponsor.

But as McCormick detailed on “National Report,” he worked with Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., to find sponsors and ensure the Keystone State had a presence at the fair.

“It's an amazing booth,” McCormick said. “It was unimaginable to us that Pennsylvania wouldn't be represented for America's 250th birthday.

“This is the place where America started,” McCormick added. “The hallowed fields of Gettysburg, the arsenal of democracy. And we've got it all at this booth.

“We have incredible flags. We have the Liberty Bell, we have Yuengling beer, we have the Marcellus Shale, we have U.S. Steel,” McCormick continued. “We have the snack capital of the world. We have everything in Pennsylvania to be proud of.”

McCormick stressed that patriotism isn’t a political thing.

“We can all come together on America's birthday and celebrate Pennsylvania,” McCormick said. “When I read that Pennsylvania wasn't going to be represented at the fair, I called Senator Fetterman. We can't let this happen,” McCormick said.

McCormick said Shapiro blamed lack of sponsorship, but he said he called business groups who said they would be proud to represent the state.

“This has been at no cost to taxpayers,” McCormick said. “People have volunteered. We've had more than 55 sponsors, all the different parts of Pennsylvania represented here.

“And everybody that comes through is proud to be part of Pennsylvania, and I'm certainly proud to be able to represent Pennsylvania,” McCormick added.
