Israel shared intelligence with the U.S. warning that Iran had allegedly developed a new plot to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The report said Israeli officials provided the information to U.S. officials as tensions between Washington and Tehran have intensified following renewed military strikes and threats between the two countries.

The alleged plot would mark another escalation in Iran's long-running threats against Trump, who has been a target of Iranian anger since the 2020 U.S. strike that killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran's elite Quds Force.

Trump addressed the dangers he faces while speaking with reporters Wednesday in Ankara, Turkey, saying he believes Iran's leadership wants him eliminated because of his actions against the regime.

"I'm on every list," Trump said.

The president also reflected on the personal risks that come with confronting Iran, acknowledging that his decisions have placed him in danger but saying he remains focused on his goals.

Trump has repeatedly said his top priority in dealing with Iran is preventing the country from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The Journal reported that the intelligence warning came as the U.S. and Iran remained locked in a broader confrontation, with Trump warning Tehran of additional military action and saying a previous ceasefire arrangement appeared to have broken down.

The alleged assassination effort follows previous U.S. investigations into Iranian-linked plots targeting Trump and other American officials.

In 2024, the Justice Department charged an individual accused of working with Iran in connection with an alleged murder-for-hire scheme targeting Trump before he returned to the White House.

Iran has denied previous allegations that it has sought to assassinate Trump.

The White House, Israeli officials, and Iranian officials have not publicly confirmed the specific details of the intelligence described in the Journal report.
