President Donald Trump unveiled plans for two major patriotic celebrations in Washington, D.C., as part of America's 250th anniversary festivities, promising military flyovers, live performances, a historic fireworks display, and what he called the "most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all."
In a pair of Monday morning Truth Social posts, Trump detailed plans for a June 24 kickoff event and a July 4 "Tribute to America" celebration as the nation prepares to commemorate 250 years of independence.
The June 24 event, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, will launch the Great American State Fair on the National Mall in honor of the country's semiquincentennial.
"Wednesday, June 24th, will be the 'kick off' of our summer long Celebration of 250 Years of American Independence!" Trump wrote.
"Come and enjoy a night filled with beautiful music from our talented U.S. Army and Marine Corps Military Bands (ONLY THE HITS THAT YOU KNOW AND LOVE!), the highly gifted Christopher Macchio, and our friend, Lee Greenwood, performing the Greatest Hit of All Time, GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.," he continued.
The president also highlighted planned military demonstrations, including flyovers by military aircraft.
"You will also bear witness to impressive Military flyovers featuring precision Fighter Jets and Stealth Bombers," Trump wrote, praising American pilots as "the most Elite Pilots anywhere in the World."
The patriotic tribute will take place on the National Mall in what Trump described as "one of the safest Cities in the World, Washington D.C.," adding that the nation's capital is being beautified "to levels never seen before."
The president also announced plans for a major Independence Day celebration in the heart of the federal city.
"On July 4th, at The Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, in beautiful and safe Washington D.C., we are going to host the most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all, a 'TRIBUTE TO AMERICA,'" he wrote.
According to Trump, the July 4 event will begin at 7 p.m. ET and feature more than 300 members of military bands, orchestras, and ceremonial units performing patriotic music and American classics.
The president said he will deliver "keynote remarks" at the gathering, which will reportedly include military flyovers and airshows celebrating the nation's "People, Spirit, Strength, Resolve, and Triumphs."
He also touted what he called "the largest formation of Joint Military Music and Ceremonial performances in History."
To conclude the evening, the president pledged to launch what he described as "the LARGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN HISTORY" over the nation's capital.
"Do not miss it. See you on JULY 4th in Washington, D.C.," Trump wrote.
