Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., said on Newsmax Thursday that there is no question that Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., would stand with the communist element he says has taken control of the Democratic Party, arguing the incumbent has repeatedly sided with the left instead of Georgia families.

Appearing on "Wake Up America," the Republican Senate candidate pointed to Ossoff's voting record, support for the Biden administration's agenda, and reliance on out-of-state donors as evidence that he would continue backing his party's increasingly left-wing direction.

Collins contrasted his own background with Ossoff's, saying the two candidates represent fundamentally different values and priorities.

"I'm just a small-business person, blue-collar worker all my life," Collins said. "Jon Ossoff is, frankly, a trust fund kid. He's never had a real job in his life."

"So we look at it from two totally different perspectives," he added.

Collins argued Ossoff's deciding vote for the Biden administration's spending agenda fueled inflation and higher costs for Americans.

"At the end of the day, just take a look at our voting records," Collins said. "He voted for that Biden administration."

"He was the deciding vote for that debacle that caused all the inflation. All of your gas prices, all of your food, energy, everything that went sky high is due to Jon Ossoff voting for that mess," he explained.

Collins said Ossoff later voted against legislation that would have lowered taxes and provided relief to Georgia's agriculture industry following destructive hurricanes.

"When he had the opportunity to change that and make sure that the American people and the people of Georgia kept more money in their pockets, he voted against that one," Collins said.

Reacting to President Donald Trump's warning that communism is the greatest threat facing America, Collins agreed with host Marc Lotter that Ossoff would side with "the socialists that have taken over the Democrat Party" if reelected.

"In order to prove that, all you got to do is look at where his money is coming from," said Collins. "He's only gotten 17%, 18% of his donations come from the state of Georgia. The rest of it comes from California, New York, and Washington."

Collins said those donors — not Georgia voters — will ultimately expect Ossoff to advance their agenda.

"At the end of the day, when that phone rings, who do you think he's going to answer?" Collins asked. "Is he going to answer the phone for the people of Georgia or the people that have funded to keep him up here and are trying to keep him up here?"

"Because, Lord help, if they get him in for a second time around, you don't think they won't call that note due?" he added.

"President Trump is exactly right," Collins emphasized. "That Democrat Party has moved so far left, and they are being run by those far-left socialist communist activists, and they are all coming out of California and New York."
