President Donald Trump on Friday repeated his endorsement of Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., just hours after the longtime ally praised the president's handling of Iran and said the regime's ability to sponsor terrorism has been "massively degraded."
In a Truth Social post, Trump offered his "Complete and Total Endorsement" for Graham's reelection campaign, highlighting the senator's support for key administration priorities.
"Lindsey Graham is working incredibly hard for the Great People of South Carolina," Trump wrote. "Lindsey has been a wonderful friend, and has always been there when I needed him."
Trump praised Graham's work as chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, saying he is helping advance efforts to grow the economy, lower taxes, cut regulations, secure the border, support the military and veterans, expand American energy production, and defend Second Amendment rights.
"Lindsey Graham has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!" Trump wrote.
The endorsement came after Graham used social media Friday to back Trump's assessment of the impact of U.S. military operations against Iran.
"Completely agree with President Trump's analysis that Iran's capability to generate another October 7 or continue to be the largest state sponsor of terrorism on the planet has been massively degraded," Graham wrote on X.
The South Carolina Republican also pushed back against critics who argue Iran emerged stronger following months of conflict.
"To those who say Iran is stronger now than before, that is an insult to the American military and it is delusional thinking because the Iranian economy is in shambles," Graham wrote.
The comments follow a week of debate over the recently announced U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, which established a 60-day negotiating period aimed at reaching a broader agreement on Tehran's nuclear program and regional activities.
Trump has repeatedly argued that the military campaign damaged Iran's nuclear infrastructure, severely weakened its military capabilities, and forced the regime back to the negotiating table from a position of weakness.
Graham urged the president to continue pursuing diplomacy while maintaining pressure on Tehran.
"Mr. President, continue to try to find a diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear ambitions and other issues that have plagued the world since 1979," Graham wrote. "The day diplomacy is off the table will present America and our allies with some very stark choices."
He also stressed that Israel should not be expected to tolerate continued attacks from Iranian-backed proxy groups.
Following Trump's endorsement, Graham responded with a brief message of appreciation.
"Thank you again, Mr. President," he wrote. "I will not let you, South Carolina, or our country down."
The exchange underscores the close political alliance between Trump and Graham as Republicans look ahead to the 2026 midterm elections and continue defending the administration's foreign policy agenda in the Middle East.
