Ukraine's long-range drone and missile campaign against Russia's energy infrastructure has evolved into one of the most consequential developments of the war, inflicting unprecedented damage on the Kremlin's oil refining industry and placing growing pressure on Russia's economy, transportation network, and political leadership.

According to Ukraine's General Staff, systematic strikes since August 2025 have disabled approximately 42.7% of Russia's oil refining capacity, causing an estimated $13.5 billion in losses to the industry.
