Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest son, took to social media Tuesday to criticize Tyler James Robinson, the man charged in the killing of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA.

"Fact: Tyler Robinson was on the Utah Valley University campus 4 times between September, 10 2025 and the early hours (approximately 12:40 am) on September, 11 2025," Trump Jr. wrote in a post on X.

"Major detail no one seems to be talking about: Tyler Robinson was not a student at UVU!!!"

He responded to a post in which conservative commentator Jack Posobiec said Robinson "was prowling around campus multiple times, changing outfits, even returning in the middle of the night."

Trump wrote: "He also magically developed a stiff leg after changing from shorts into baggy long pants while heading up to a rooftop that was an ideal vantage point to shoot from. Then magically that limp disappeared as he jumped from the roof top with something resembling a wrapped rifle!"

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Robinson, 23, who is charged with aggravated murder.

Trump was joined by Posobiec and members of Kirk's family, including his widow, Erika Kirk, who now leads Turning Point USA.

Trump said he attended the hearing because "Charlie was one of my closest friends for over a decade."

Authorities allege Robinson confessed in text messages and a handwritten note to his roommate, who prosecutors say was also his romantic partner, before surrendering to law enforcement the following day.

According to prosecutors, the note stated: "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it." They also allege Robinson texted his roommate that he targeted Kirk because he "had enough of his hatred."

Prosecutors presented surveillance and law enforcement video, witness testimony, and DNA evidence they say links Robinson to the suspected murder weapon during the preliminary hearing. They have also said they intend to present autopsy findings and a recorded statement from Robinson's roommate.
