A dog that escaped from her family's backyard in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and was missing for a month was reunited with her owner after she was spotted celebrating Mexico's World Cup victory on Facebook Live, The Washington Post reported.

Ale Garcia, 24, had searched for La Gorda, 6, for a month but had no luck finding her.

Then her brother sent her a link showing a soccer fan lifting the dog in celebration after Mexico's World Cup victory over the Czech Republic on June 24.

"I said, 'Oh, I don't believe you, I can't believe it,'" Garcia told the Post.

"Because it was too far from where I live to the stadium, so I said to myself, 'How can a little dog get there?'"

Garcia drove to the location with a friend and started calling the dog's name.

Within moments, La Gorda came running.

"I was so surprised because she went so many places in this month," Garcia said. "She was walking all over the city."

La Gorda lost 15 pounds while wandering the city. She also injured her front right paw.

But she healed quickly at home, Garcia told the Post.

"Life is good; Mexico won, and I found my dog after a long time thanks to a live stream — haha. Thanks for the messages; she's home now, and we're going to take her to the vet," Garcia wrote on her Facebook account.
