A group of House Democrats is joining the health advocacy group Protect Our Care for a nearly $5 million campaign aimed at Republicans over healthcare cuts, The Hill reported.
The campaign, "Sick of It! Fix Health Care Now," will include advertising, town halls, digital outreach, storytelling events, and a coast-to-coast bus tour this fall, according to The Hill.
Protect Our Care said in a statement it will work with state and national partners to organize communities and hold Republicans responsible for changes to healthcare programs.
House Minority Whip Katherine Clark of Massachusetts, Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar of California, and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California are among the Democrats taking part.
The campaign also includes Democrat Reps. Frank Pallone of New Jersey, Richard Neal of Massachusetts, Lauren Underwood of Illinois, Lori Trahan of Massachusetts, Terri Sewell of Alabama, and Bobby Scott of Virginia.
The initiative will span Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
More than 100 national and local organizations are backing the campaign, including the Service Employees International Union and Planned Parenthood Federation of America, The Hill reported.
Protect Our Care said it will spend the nearly $5 million over the coming months on organizing, advertising, and events in the targeted states.
Democrats have focused on healthcare costs during President Donald Trump's second term, pointing to higher insurance premiums and medical costs as they make their case against Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Premiums for 2027 plans sold through the Affordable Care Act marketplaces are projected to rise by double digits.
